Leaf Blower Buddy

The days of having to blow and re-blow the sidewalk once you've done the edging are finally behind you.

What’s the challenge?
Today’s leaf blowers only blow air in a single direction and at one speed. This effectively moves leaves and other debris in one direction but fails to move the debris forward when it faces an obstruction like the grass perimeter of a sidewalk. When trying to clean up after you’ve edged your lawn or in preparation to mow your lawn, traditional blowers will push the grass clippings into the side of the grass rather than up and over it. This wastes time and requires the person to continuously re-blow an area.
How does this innovation help?
This easy to add Leaf Blower Buddy attachment will use the faster moving air from the lower outlet to push the grass clippings into the air to then allow the slower moving air flowing from the upper outlet to move it into the grass.

Here is an example of what the Leaf Blower Buddy could look like. It’s made of recyclable plastic and can attach to any size blower with a click and release adapter or simply a strap that can be attached to the side of the Blower Buddy and loops to the back of the blower.

This is an illustration of what the inside of the Leaf Blower Buddy looks like. Notice how the rapidly moving air can quickly flow through the bottom outlet. There is also a slight dip in the bottom of the Blower Buddy, this naturally causes the air to move down and in a cylindrical manner which encourages the debris to be moved off of its surface and up. You’ll also see the air somewhat obstructed as it flows through the upper outlet. The air flow is also directed slightly upward to encourage the debris / grass clipping to continue in an upward and “away from” direction.
